Indus University, a distinguished project of the PNBMDC Foundation, began its journey as the Indus Institute of Higher Education in November 2004. It was officially created under the Sindh Assembly Act on January 7, 2006. In a notable achievement, the institute was upgraded to Indus University status on April 5, 2012, by a legislative act from the Sindh Assembly.
This change represented a significant move toward achieving the institution's aim of delivering quality education and strengthening Pakistan's contribution to promoting intellectual development. Indus University, acknowledged by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan and honoured with the esteemed five-star ranking from the Charter Inspection and Evaluation Committee (CIEC) of the Sindh Government, represents a symbol of academic excellence and innovation.
